The Legend That Changed Everything: "Hiden Tamagaeshi"

Juyondai Honmaru is arguably the most famous sake in Japan. It is the bottle that defied conventions and started the "Hojun Umakuchi" (rich and flavorful) revolution in the sake world. The label proudly displays "Hiden Tamagaeshi" (秘伝玉返し), a secret proprietary brewing technique of Takagi Shuzo. By adding high-quality distilled alcohol made from sake lees (Kasutori Shochu) back into the mash, they created a texture so velvety and rich that it transcends the "Honjozo" category entirely.

Flavor Profile: Velvety & Crisp

Unlike traditional dry sakes, Honmaru greets you with a lush aroma of ripe melon and pear. The palate is impressively smooth with a burst of sweetness, yet the addition of brewers' alcohol ensures a razor-sharp, clean finish (Kire). It is the perfect balance of richness and drinkability.
