Founded in 1852: The Origin of Yeast No.6

Aramasa Shuzo, located in Akita Prefecture, was established in 1852. It holds a unique and prestigious place in history as the birthplace of the "Kyokai No.6 Yeast" in 1930, the oldest yeast still in use today. Under the leadership of Yusuke Sato, Aramasa has become the most innovative brewery in Japan.

 The "Neo-Classic" Revolution

Aramasa is unlike any other sake. They use only wooden tanks (barrel brewing) and adhere to traditional Kimoto methods, yet the taste is strikingly modern, often compared to fine white wine.
